Anyone who wants to learn a new language must first take a French level test<\/strong> in order to determine their fluency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The test consists of 18 multiple choice questions<\/strong> that cover grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completing the test, users are given a score that corresponds to one of five levels: A1, A2, B1, B2 or C1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The benefits of knowing your French level are numerous. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For starters<\/strong>, you can be sure that you are learning the language at the right pace. If you’re taking a class or working with a tutor, you can use your French level as a benchmark to ensure that you are making progress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The different levels of fluency in French<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are five <\/strong>levels of fluency in French: A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1. Each level is associated with certain proficiencies in the language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

French A1 level<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the A1 level, you will have a basic understanding<\/strong> of French grammar and vocabulary. You will be able to introduce yourself, ask and answer simple questions, and read short, simple texts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

French A2 level<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the A2 level, you will have a more advanced understanding<\/strong> of French grammar and vocabulary. You will be able to carry on a basic conversation<\/strong>, write simple paragraphs, and read moderately complex texts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

French B1 level<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the B1 level, you will have a thorough understanding<\/strong> of French grammar and vocabulary. You will be able to hold a conversation on most topics<\/strong>, write essays, and read complex texts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

French B2 level<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the B2 level, you will have an expert understanding<\/strong> of French grammar and vocabulary. You will be able to converse on any topic<\/strong>, write professional documents, and read almost any text with ease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

French C1 level<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the C1 level, you will have a near-native understanding<\/strong> of French grammar and vocabulary. You will be able to converse on any topic with fluency and accuracy<\/strong>, write complex documents that are nearly<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The French level test<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Normally, a French level test includes an oral exam. Indeed, it is important to be able to evaluate a student’s ability to express himself and his mastery of French phonetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
