In France, the aperitif is considered to be a much-valued moment of relaxation and pleasure, often enjoyed before dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What could be more charming than that?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is an aperitif and what are its origins?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An <strong>aperitif <\/strong>( French pronunciation: \u200b [a.p\u0259.\u0281i.tif]) is an alcoholic drink that is served before a meal to stimulate the appetite. It is usually a <strong>light drink<\/strong>, such as wine or champagne, and is meant to whet the palate and prepare the digestive system for the upcoming meal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aperitifs are <strong>popular in France<\/strong> and other European countries, but they are also enjoyed in the United States and other parts of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The origins of the aperitif can be traced back to ancient Rome, where people would drink diluted wine with herbs and spices to help them digest their food.
